A Pile of Papers

Here we have a collection of documents ranging from little to limited interest. (Typically, one would refer to such a container filled with documents of this sort as a 'trash can'.)

These documents are in PDF format and can be read by using Adobe Reader.

Past Holiday Newsletters

In 2003, while Steve was still in the throws of his nostalgia obsession, we began a new, and long overdue tradition of sending annual newsletters to our friends and family each Christmas. It was a tradition that was to last all of a year. We tried to keep it up, but in 2004, we just plain blew it, starting too late and not even finishing the letter. We did better in 2005, but just as we were ready to print it out and start stuffing envelopes we were stunned by the murder of a dear friend and the sudden death of Mindy's uncle within three days time. We lost the focus and never got it back.

This failure is actually one of the main reasons for finally getting this web site in place. Now we will keep the news up to date and you can peruse it (or not) at your liesure. But for posterity's sake, we include here the three newsletters that were written, or at least started, in the past.

  1. Christmas 2003
  2. Christmas 2004 (barely started)
  3. Christmas 2005

Spiritual Topics

Here are some things we've written on a variety of spiritual subjects.

Mom's Passing

Steve's mother passed away in 2004. She suffered a heart attack in the early morning hours, which led to a stroke a bit later. The treatments for the two problems were diametrically opposed and within 24 hours the blood thinners required for her heart led to massive bleeding in the brain. We were shocked at how suddenly she was gone, but we appreciate God's blessing in taking her home without prolonged suffering.
